Things You'll Need:
- Ebay account
-
Step 1
Log in to your eBay account and click on the sell button to begin your auction. If you don't have an eBay account, you will have to register.
-
Step 2
Describe your gold in the auction title and description. The title is one of the most important aspects of a successful auction. You have limited space, so be precise. For example, if you want to sell two American Eagle Gold Bullion coins, a good auction title would read something like "2006 American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins." This gives the potential bidder a very clear idea of what you are selling. If you are selling a more specific item, like a piece of gold jewelry, try to include the carat and weight in the title.
-
Step 3
Pictures are vital to a successful auction. Take pictures in a well-lit area with a neutral background. Depending on the kind of gold you are selling, multiple angles and close-ups may be helpful.
-
Step 4
Inlclude a buy-it-now price near or slightly above the spot price of gold. If you are selling pure gold coins or bars (bullion), selling at spot price will bring a lot of bidders to your auction and possibly even end it early (a good thing if you get the price you want). Don't forget to figure in eBay's selling fees when listing your price.
-
Step 5
Set the shipping price as low as possible but make sure toinclude insurance. Since you are selling something of high value, you will want to make sure it is shipped using a safe carrier that is insured for the value of your gold. Include this information in the item description as it will help potential buyers feel more confident.
