Messiaen's Truncated Mode 6 Inverse is a modern scale that does not follow a traditional step pattern. Instead of the usual whole-and-half-step pattern, this scale uses a pattern of a whole step, major third, whole step and a final major third. This is a great starting place if you are looking to add some modern scales to your repertoire. Try using Messiaen's Truncated Mode 6 Inverse scale next time you solo or compose.
