How to Make a Tripoley Board
Tripoley is a board and card game that incorporates aspects of rummy, poker and hearts. This game has been a favorite among families for generations. However, over the years these boards have become more and more rare. If you have a desire to play Tripoley but can’t find a board, here are some steps you can take to create your own Tripoley board.

- Thin wood
- Wood cutter
- Sandpaper
- Felt
- Glue
- Bowl
- Permanent marker
- Pie pan

Cut a square out of a piece of thin wood into a square at least 20" by 20". You can use any wood you like, but keep in mind that you will want it to stay in one place, so avoid flimsy woods. Sand the edges smooth.

Glue felt like you see on poker tables to the board, so the entire surface is covered. A strong wood glue, lightly spread around the surface for even distribution, should do the trick. Let the glue dry overnight.

Use a bowl or other circular object to trace a circle in the exact middle of the board using a permanent marker. This is the pot and players will need to stack their chips here, so make it large enough to accommodate all players. Write “Pot” in the center of the circle.

Find a larger circular object like a pizza pan or a pie pan and trace a larger circle around the pot you just drew. Make sure that this circle has enough space in between its border and the border of the pot so that people can lay down cards.

Draw eight equal segments out of this second circle. Within each segment write the following: 10s, Kings, Jacks, Queens, Aces, 8-9-10 All one suit. These will be the dividing lines for players so that they will know which cards to lay down where and determine who the winner is.
