Your rating stars mean everything on the website Helium if you want to make a little money from your articles. Your pay rate will be determined by how many rating stars you have. Your article will get rated by many Helium members and given a rank within your topic title. If you have a lot of articles with low ranks, you will loose or not receive stars. You need to use the Leapfrog function in order to give your articles a better shot at rising in the rankings.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Word or equivalent program
  • Membership to Helium
  • Copy of original Helium article onto Word
  1. Step 1

Log in to the Helium web site with your username and password.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "My Helium" button in white letters at the top of the page in the red stripe.

  3. Step 3

Click on the"My Articles" link on the left hand side list.

  4. Step 4

Choose which article you want to Leapfrog. Click on the "Show Article Options" link in blue. This will open up some more information. Click on the blue "Leapfrog" link.

  5. Step 5

Open up Microsoft word or similar program. Open up a new document. Cut and paste the original article onto your new document.

  6. Step 6

Edit your article. Keep your spell check turned on because Helium's spell check function no longer works. When you are satisfied with it, copy the article to your clipboard.

  7. Step 7

Go back to Helium's Leapfrog text box, and click "Clear Body Text" link. A window will come up asking if you mean to erase the original article. Click "OK".

  8. Step 8

In the now blank text box, right-click your mouse and then click "copy". This puts your edited article from your clipboard into the text box.

  9. Step 9

Click the user agreement and any three-letter verification code (if necessary), and hit the green "Submit" button.

Tips & Warnings
  • Membership to Helium is free.
  • Although you can just write directly into the text box, this is not recommended. Occasionally, the site will refuse to save your article and will delete it.
  • If your Leapfrog is rejected, just wait a few weeks and resubmit it. It will often be accepted the second time around.
  • You could also go to the Helium community forum and ask for advice on how to make your article better.
  • Don't plagerize.
  • Don't use your Leapfrog to attack another Helium member or argue with points about another Helium article in your title.
  • Don't put your name or a byline on your Leapfrog article. A byline will automatically pop up on the published article.
