Step 1
Ask the bridal party, family members and friends if they know any locations that stand out in their mind as romantic. If they do, get names and addresses of these places and visit them.
-
Step 2
Take into account what you and your partner consider romantic. Make sure you have the same ideas about what is romantic and go from there. Also be realistic about your budget and the climate you live in. Consider your guests and what they can afford and where they could go. Destination weddings are often difficult to pull off because many guests cannot get there.
-
Step 3
Have your wedding ceremony at a time of day or evening you both like. For example, sunsets can be very romantic, and most of the guests will be able to come at that time. You could also get married at the waterfront, park, golf course (country club) or in a gazebo.
-
Step 4
Consider the time of year for your wedding. If you are both ski buffs and met on a ski hill or mountain, then you may wish to have a winter wedding, as those will be romantic memories and a romantic setting for you. There are many lodges that have party rooms. You could even have it outside, just make sure you and the guests dress appropriately.
-
Step 5
Hold the wedding in a place that holds special memories for you as a couple, or a place where your family has held weddings. This can include churches, halls and lodges. If that place is no longer there, hold it close by or in a setting that reminds you of this area. You can add atmosphere with lighting, candles and decorations that reflect your tastes.
-
Step 6
Make the setting for your wedding very romantic, no matter where you are. Dress it up with flowers, candles, rose petals, candy, decorations and pictures of the two of you. Have the bridal party help you with this and give you their input.
-
Step 7
Have a wedding on the move in a carriage or the back of a limousine. This will be sure to create memories for a long time to come. If you cannot have the ceremony there, then make it a part of the reception for the bridal party.
