Instructions

    • 1

Get a white sheet. This could be brand new or an old one that you don't want anymore. Measure your table, so you know what size sheet you are going to need. Make sure you bleach it to get out any stains, since you are going to be using it for a party and your guests are going to see it.

    • 2

Use your black paint to paint on a spider web. Make sure you start in the middle of your sheet. This will be where you want the center to go on your table. Spider webs are not even, so your design will not be symmetrical.

    • 3

Use your scissors to cut the ends of the spider web where you finished drawing it. It doesn't have to be perfect and can be different lengths all around the table. You only want the spider web lines, not the rest of the white sheet. Lay the spider web design out and let it dry before continuing to the next step.

    • 4

Place the sheet over the table you plan on using. Make sure the middle is where you started the web. Now you are ready to add stuff to your web. You should have some little fake spiders and bugs. The bugs can be caught on the spider web to become the spider's next meal. Make sure you have more spiders than bugs, though. You need to do this step on the actual table, because you don't want too many spiders on the table where you will be putting your food. You can put an unlimited amount of spiders and bugs along the sheet that drapes off of the table and all the way around the table. You can buy these spiders and bugs in bags at craft stores like Michael's and A. C. Moore.

Allow the glue to dry and display on Halloween.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get one big spider for the web and then have a bunch of little ones. Make the big spider furry and scarier than the rest.

  • Smaller children should not use a hot glue gun. It can cause serious burns.

  • Place a drop cloth under your sheet before you begin painting to protect your surfaces.
