How to Vacation on St.. John Island

Winter is a great time to visit St. John, the smallest of the three U.S. Virgin Islands. But if you enjoy peace and quiet in a gorgeous setting, it's also a lovely, affordable destination off-season. There’s much to love about this beautiful, friendly and tranquil Caribbean island. Nearly two-thirds of the island is part of the Virgin Islands National Park. Fifty years ago, philanthropist and conservation advocate Laurance Rockefeller fell in love with St. John. He bought most of the island and donated it to the government as public parkland. Today, the original 9,500-acre park encompasses pristine beaches and lush forests.
