How to Fax Something Online
Faxing online is easier than it sounds. Gone are the days that you have to work with a bulky machine. This change is especially great for people who work out of their homes and don't want to buy an extra piece of equipment. The only trick is getting it set up.

1
Have access to the Internet. This point almost goes without saying. If you can't sign on, then you can't fax online. There's no way of getting around it. So if you don't have the Internet at home, go to the library or use the Internet at your job (with permission).

2
Find an online fax service. Several exist for Internet surfers. If you "Google" the words "fax online," you will get a lot of hits. Search through them. Find a service that fits your budget. Most will require a minimum fee. However, a lot of them also offer free service for 30 days.

Get your information in order. Be sure to have your fax number and other information in order. Know what you want to fax and how many pages it is. Online fax services need the same information to fax as is needed in a non-online fax service. Keep this in mind.
-
4
Scan the information you want to fax into your computer. The image you want to fax must be in your computer. It's the only way you can transmit it to the fax service. So be sure that it shows up as clear and legible. If it doesn't, scan it in until it does or alter it in some way. Of course, if what you are faxing was created on your computer, just be sure that is readily available on your desktop.
-
5
Follow the directions of your fax service. Your fax service will tell you exactly how to attach the document you want to fax and where to place the numbers. So follow the directions to the "t" in order to make sure your fax goes through.
-
6
Wait for the confirmation. You need to get the "OK" that your fax went through to the other party. Therefore, wait to receive it before you sign off. Even online fax services give you confirmation. So if it doesn't come, fax your document again. You can also contact customer service if you would rather talk to someone live.

Very helpful article and I just want to add that if you can afford a faxing online service then go for a paid subscription for no worries about ads, poor quality, sluggishness and lack of features or functionalities. -
