How to Make a Music Video a GIF Animation
With the amount of viral videos going around the web, cellphones companies fall behind in offering the last GIFs for consumer to use on cell phones. Instead of waiting on cell phone companies to create GIFs, you can create your own!
Things You'll Need
- Computer
- Internet access
- Video file of the music video
- Video processing program

Go to the official website of AVD Video Processor, download and install the software.

Click in the top left hand corner on the menu option labeled "File". In the drop down menu that appears, choose the "Open" option. After locating and selecting your music video, click the "Open" option, located at the bottom left of the menu.

Once the video is selected a menu containing your music video will appear. Wait for the video to play or drag the purple cone, located along the time line at the bottom of the screen. By dragging this cone you can cue your video forwards or backwards.

Capture the video. When the video is cued up to the point you wish to capture, go click the capture button, located in the bottom left of the menu. Each time you click the capture button, a frame is saved. So click this button at least two times per second, more frames will result in a smoother clip.

Hit the stop button, and then exit the menu. Go to the top of the program and select the "GIF Animator" tab and then click the green arrow pointing to the right.

Click the purple diskette icon labeled "GIF". This icon will bring up a menu which will allow you to name and place your GIF file.

Tips & Warnings
Under the "GIF Animator" tab, adjust the values in the section labeled "Frame Delay." Adjusting these values will determine the speed and smoothness of the GIF file.
