Feel Happy

Happiness is a mixture of positive emotions, ranging from a feeling of heavenly bliss or delight to a state of well-being and contentment. There are many ways to be happy; but with crises being on the rise these days, finding happiness can be a bit challenging. Despite of all the stresses associated with life, we still do our best to be happy--because being happy is the only way to keep us afloat. Happiness is considered a very important therapy, both physically and mentally. With it, we are inspired to accomplish whatever goals we want to achieve. It's a strong drive that keeps us going and helps us live our life every single day.

Instructions

    • 1

Try your best to be calm at all times. Don't allow small things to stress you out. If you miss your bus ride, don't be upset over it for the whole day. Just wait for the next one, and when it arrives, think of some happy thoughts that will help you get on with your day.

    • 2

Pump up your mood. If you are in the verge of being stressed out, try to lighten up your mood by listening to your favorite music. Music stimulates a part of your brain that releases endorphins, which are essential chemicals that trigger happiness and overall relaxation.

    • 3

Spend time with individuals who are dear to you. There is nothing more joyful than to be with the people you love. During the weekends, try to schedule a fun trip for you and your partner, or one for your whole family. Just go somewhere else for a change and enjoy the change of scenery.

    • 4

Treat yourself to a good laugh. Set your stressed mind into a laughing mode by either going to a live stand-up comedy show or just watching funny programs or movies at home.

    • 5

Be pleased with even the minor details of your life. Every night before going to sleep, try to think of some happy thoughts from your day. Take time to be grateful for your partner who is there for you through thick and thin, for your friends who support you all the way, for your children who love you endlessly, for your boss who keeps on believing in your work, and even for the cab driver who takes you home safely.

    • 6

Nurture yourself physically. Exercise is an excellent way to stimulate the production of healthy chemicals in your body to make you feel good. Go to the gym, go for a walk, jog, swim, or do yoga.

    • 7

Set a goal and do your best to accomplish it. In order to find happiness, you need to work for it, earn it and appreciate it. Set some goals and fulfill them--simple goals, such as saving a certain amount of money to buy a dishwasher so your wife doesn't have to wash dishes anymore. This is just a very simple goal, but when you are able to accomplish it, you will feel good about yourself.

Do something nice for others. Helping others is a very honorable way to find happiness. If your schedule is too tight for volunteer work, you can just donate a small sum of money or some old clothes or toys to charity. When you eat out, try to be a good tipper to the waiters or the valet who safely parked your car. All these simple things will not only make you happy, but other people as well.

    • 9

Start and end your day with a smile. Smiling is a very powerful gesture. There's no need for words to describe how pleasant it is. If you have a lousy day, smile your way out of the office. When people smile back at you, it will uplift your mood and make you feel better.

    • 10

Do things that you find pleasurable. If you are fond of new places, travel with your partner. If you are into collecting coins and jewelry, buy some to add to your collection. Reward yourself for the hard work that you've done and be happy with it.

    • 11

Spend some time with your pets. Just looking at your pets will make you smile and help you feel good. Pet your dog or play with your cat.

    • 12

Clean the house and rearrange your stuff. When you are cleaning your house, try to arrange your furniture differently for a change. Make your dark room brighter to create a happy and delightful ambience.

Tips & Warnings

  • Learn to forgive individuals who hurt you. This may be difficult to do, but when you get over your bitterness, you will be able to find happiness more easily.
