How to Get an Acting Job on the Disney Channel

The Disney Channel provides a load of wholesome, family entertainment that is educational and entertaining. Many of the actors who star in a Disney Channel movie, television series and other advertising spot end up becoming superstars.       Take acting classes. Get enrolled in a scene study, on camera, commercial, audition or cold reading technique class. Also, train in dance and voice to expand your talent range.

      Educate yourself about the industry and the audition process by reading books, reviewing acting message boards and talking to other actors.

      Look for a photographer. Look at the photographer's portfolios to make sure her style matches what you're looking for. Set up a photoshoot to have your headshots taken. Get the images duplicated at a local printer.

      Prepare for your photo session. Disney likes to employ clean cut, all American actors. Get your skin as clear as possible, groom your eyebrows, whiten your teeth, find a clean hair style and purchase solid colored clothing.

      Find a list of agents online or in an agency guide. You can locate these materials at any bookstore in Los Angeles. Read through the agents and see who represents people of your type. Type up a short cover letter introducing yourself and explain that you are seeking representation. Also, create a resume; list your experience, training and personal information. Staple the resume to the back of your headshot. Lastly, send a headshot and resume along with a cover letter to each agent. Wait for a reply from interested agents and sign with the one you think will help your career the most.
