Who doesn't love ice cream cones? Well, with this special treat, you can combine cake and ice cream cones together. This works well for a young child's birthday party. They are easy to make and even easier to eat.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Box of your favorite cake mix
  • 24 cake cones (yellow, flat bottom)
  • Your favorite frosting
  • Sprinkles or other embellishments
  • 2- 6-holder cupcake tins
  • Aluminum foil
  1. Step 1

Prepare boxed cake mix as instructed.

  2. Step 2

Line each cupcake holder tin with aluminum foil. Wad up the foil so it will cushion the cone when it it is placed inside.

  3. Step 3

Fill each cake cone half-way with batter.

  4. Step 4

Bake according to directions, but cut the cooking time by one-third (instead of 15 minutes, for example, cook it for 10 minutes).

  5. Step 5

Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the batter. If it comes out clean, it is cooked all the way through.

  6. Step 6

Remove from oven and allow to cool (half-hour to an hour).

  7. Step 7

Top with frosting and your favorite sprinkles.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you transporting these cones, do not frost until you arrive at your destination.
  • Allow the cones to stand in the cupcake tins until it is time to serve.
