It's so easy to make fresh, delicious banana bread with ingredients from your own pantry. Making banana bread is also a great way to use overripe bananas.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas
  • mixing bowl
  • 9-inch loaf pan
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  2. Step 2

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten.

  3. Step 3

Pour batter into the greased loaf pan.

  4. Step 4

Bake in pre-heated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.

  5. Step 5

Let the bread cool in pan for 10 minutes. Then, turn the bread out onto a wire rack.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that you use over-ripe bananas when making banana bread. The best bananas to use are ones that don't need to be cut or mashed too much to easily blend into the batter.
  • Don't use bananas that have mold on them! They will make you sick.
