Pro wrestling mixes athleticism with entertainment.

Professional wrestling is popular for mixing athleticism with entertainment. Some people envision themselves becoming champion pro wrestlers, battling opponents in the ring before millions of fans and earning lots of money. Stardom is neither guaranteed nor instantaneous, but if you are well-informed about how to go about building your career, you have a good chance at being successful.

Instructions

    • 1

Get in top physical shape. Work out in the gym, do strength-training and lift weights to achieve your look and increase your strength and endurance.

    • 2

Attend a wrestling school to learn how to fight.

    • 3

Develop an over-the-top character crowds will love or love to hate. But be flexible enough to switch characters if promoters demand it.

    • 4

Make sure your family supports your career and your being away for long periods of time and putting yourself into perilous situations in the ring.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pro wrestling can be dangerous. While some aspects of it may be choreographed, it still involves brute force and you run the risk of being injured.

  • Many pro wrestlers work four to five times a week in minor wrestling leagues, and pay can be as low as $25.

  • Get used to flying across the country, staying in cheap hotels and eating quick meals, because that may be your life as a pro wrestler.
