Instructions

    • 1

With the special tool for removing plastic clips, remove the plastic inner door and set aside. Be careful not to pull any wires during the process.

    • 2

Do a visual inspection of the door mechanism. You may find something stuck, preventing the scissors from operating. Remove the obstruction and install the door panel.

    • 3

Use your test light to determine if the wiper motor has power going to it. Visually inspect all wiring in the interior of the vehicle. Check the fuse before moving to any other steps. If melted, separated or burned, cut out the bad spots with your splicer/crimper tool. Use the proper gauge wire to prevent it from coming loose from its connector.

    • 4

Use your digital volt ohm meter to diagnose high or low ohms. Lower readings are good; high numbers are bad in this case, because high ohms means no power or not enough to make the circuit work.

    • 5

Reconnect any repaired wiring. Replace the control module if removed. Test the power window function. If the washer blades work, clean up using plastic coiled wire saver to keep wire from touching each other and engine parts that may be rubbing against the wires.

    • 6

Install the coiled tape and remove all tools from the work area. Put the vehicle in the on position and test the button function. Blades should be moving back and forth. If not, consult the service manual for your vehicle for any special techniques.
