      The Great Northern Carousel

      After ExplorationWorks, head next door to the Great Northern Carousel. The carousel is a beautiful, hand carved, hand painted indoor carousel. The Great Northern also has some of the best ice cream in Helena, with usual flavors of all kinds.

      Part of Tizer Gardens

      A visit to the Tizer Botanical Gardens and Arboretum is a must for anyone who loves nature. The Tizer Gardens features a fairy garden, gnome village, The Secret Garden, Xeriscape garden, native plant trail and more. For more information call (406) 933-8789.

      Visitors Entering the Last Chance Ranch Tepee for Dinner

      Have dinner at Last Chance Ranch. You will take a bus ride up into the mountains surrounding Helena and will be greeted by horse-drawn wagons. The wagons will take you to two tepees set in the trees. Inside one of the tepees (the largest tepee in Montana) is a lavish three-course meal (prime rib, potatoes du jour, fresh vegetables and huckleberry cheesecake) set on beautiful log tables. While eating, the visitors are entrained by talented cowboy singer Bruce Anfinson.After dinner there is a campfire sing-along that even the most staunch visitor can't resist.       End your day with a historic ghost tour of Helena on one of the town's downtown trolleys. This tour is guided by interpretive historian Ellen Baumler, Ph.D., who brings to life the stories of the town's lively, otherworldly activity.   • If you love beautiful architecture, visit the beautiful Cathedral of St. Helena at 530 N. Ewing. The Cathedral was built in 1924 as a Catholic diocese and today stands as one of the most beautiful buildings in Helena. It contains breathtaking stained glass, soaring arches and awe-inspiring ceilings.
