Things You'll Need:
- Styrofoam egg carton, washed and dried
- Scissors
- Christmas Tree cookie cutter of template
- Green acrylic paint
- Paint Brush
- Needle and thread for hanger

Step 1
Cut the top portion of the egg carton from the bottom. Reserve the bottom for a paint palette or for other recycled crafts such as the memory game in resources below.

Step 2
Trace you template into the two flat portions of the egg carton top as shown in the picture. Cut out your Christmas trees.

Step 3
Paint your Christmas Trees with green acrylic paint (both sides and edges). Let dry. Rinse paint from your paint brush and let dry.

Step 4
Cut half way up from the bottom center of one Christmas Tree, and half way down the top center of the second tree as shown in the picture.

Step 5
Slide the trees together through the cut slots.

Step 6
With your needle and thread, poke a hole through the top of the tree and knot your thread for a hanger.

Step 7
You can also cut a Styrofoam star for you tree using the yellow flat portions of a yellow egg carton. Glue to the top of your tree.

on 12/21/2008 Oh this one is fun! The basic pattern is good for many kinds of free standing toys and ornaments. I think I'll make some of these for my grandkids.
