How to Add a YouTube Video to Your MySpace Profile

This article will show you step-by-step how to add a video from YouTube to your MySpace profile.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

1. 

   Go to YouTube and browse for the video you would like placed on your site.

2. 

   Once you have located the YouTube video you want on your MySpace page, look on the right-hand column of the page. You should find a text box filled with coding and a heading that says “Embed:”. If you don’t see this, it means that whoever uploaded the video on YouTube opted to not allow folks to embed the video on other pages and you will have to find a different video.

3. 

   Highlight the code and paste it into Word or Notepad. You will need this code later.

4. Log into your MySpace account and click on “Edit Profile”.

5. 

   Under the Interests section of Personal Info, decide where you want the YouTube video to appear on your profile. For the purposes of this article, I want my video to show up under the “Television” in the Interests section of my profile.

6. 

   Go into Word or Notepad, wherever you saved the code from YouTube, and copy it.

7. 

   Where you want the video to display on your MySpace profile depends on where you paste the code you copied from YouTube. If you want it to show up under the “Who I’d Like to Meet” section, then paste the code into that section on the edit profile screen. If you want it to show up under a particular area of your “Interests” section, then paste the code into the corresponding text box.
   
   Since I want a YouTube video to show up under “Television” in the Interests section of my profile, I’m going to paste the code into that designated text box in my profile editor.

8. Once you have pasted the code into the appropriate section, click on “Save Changes” at the bottom of the screen.

9. 

   Go check out your MySpace profile. The video should be posted!

Tips & Warnings

• If for some reason the video doesn't show up, go back into your profile editor and check to make sure that you copied all code. If you are missing a snippet of code, it could cause the video to display incorrectly or not at all.
