Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Diligence
  • Motivation
  • Dog Leash
  • Dog Bowl
  • Flea Medication
  1. Step 1

Buy High-Quality Dog Food -- High quality dog food, although fairly expensive, promotes a healthier, more vibrant dog. Low quality dog food is generally packed with fillers and by-products that are detrimental to a dog's health. Spend a little more on healthy dog food to promote the health and well-being of your beloved dog.

  2. Step 2

Give your Dog Fresh Water Daily -- Your dog needs a constant supply of fresh, clean water to maximize health and vitality. Keep your dog's water bowl clean, sanitized, and filled with fresh, clean water. Place the water bowl in a shielded area to prevent birds, rodents, or bugs from bathing in it and contaminating it.

  3. Step 3

Perform Routine Flea Inspections -- A flea-infested dog is an unhappy dog, and severe flea infestations can seriously damage your dog's health. Regularly inspect your dog for fleas - and remove them if possible! Apply a quality flea control medication, such as Advantage or Frontline, to your dog regularly.

  4. Step 4

Exercise your Dog -- Your dog needs regular exercise to stay healthy and happy. Active dogs are generally calmer and less skittish than inactive dogs and suffer from fewer health problems and conditions. Aim to walk your dog at least once a day. Take your dog for a jog, play Frisbee with your dog, or even tug of war to add variety.

  5. Step 5

Love your Dog -- Shower your dog with plenty of love and affection. Treat your dog like a child. Play with it, love it, show it attention, etc. Dogs thrive on human social contact, and dogs that are loved and nurtured tend to be healthier, happier, and more obedient.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always supervise your dog
  • Keep your dog leashed at all times while out in public
