Start with eye shadow colors that go well with your skin tone and are in the same color family. An example of family colors are espresso, cinnamon, and gold, as seen in the sample eye shadow palette.

Apply the mid tone color (on the top right side of the palette) with an eye shadow brush by brushing the color onto your eyelid (letters "a" to "b" in the eye shadow diagram).

With an eye shadow angle brush, apply the darkest color (on the top left side of the palette) by blending it from the outer corner of your lid and stroking it along your lower lashes (letters "c" and "d" in the eye shadow diagram). You can use the edge of the brush to define edges of the eye shadow.

With a highlighter brush, apply the highlighting color, the lightest color (on the bottom of the palette) by blending it under your browbone (letter "e" in the eyeshadow diagram).

Now you are ready to complete your look by adding eyeliner and mascara. You can further enhance your eyes by using an eyebrow pencil to add a little more color to your eyebrows.
