In this day and age, few couples make it to their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple has likely survived many joys and hardships throughout their marriage and should be honored and celebrated on their golden anniversary. Throwing an anniversary party for the happy couple is the perfect way to show your love and admiration.

Things You'll Need:

  • Balloons
  • Ribbon
  • Plastic vases
  • Flower bunches
  • Plastic dining and silverware
  • Streamers
  • Photo frames
  • Pictures of the happy couple
  1. Step 1

Balloons are always a lovely decoration. Visit a party supply store to find gold balloons. You can decorate the walls and doors of the venue or party site with golden balloons. You can also use golden helium balloons gathered in bunches to accentuate the couple’s chairs.

  2. Step 2

Flowers are also a nice way to decorate. If you are on a tight budget, purchase several bunches of fake flowers from a variety store. They are just as nice looking as the real thing and are significantly less expensive. Also purchase several plastic vases. You can place a vase filled with a flower bunch in the center of each table. If you cannot find gold flowers, use white or a color that will work with your decoration theme. Pink is also a lovely choice.

  3. Step 3

Streamers look very nice when hung from the ceiling. Golden streamers are available at most party supply stores, such as Party City.

  4. Step 4

As for the dining and silverware, many party stores have golden plastic plates and cutlery. They look very elegant and classy and are inexpensive. Also consider purchasing disposable champagne glasses. They are very tasteful, but made of plastic so you can throw them away after the party. Another advantage to using plastic utensils and plates is easy clean up after the party.

  5. Step 5

Another nice idea that goes well with the centerpieces is a framed photo of the happy couple. Variety stores have a wonderful array of inexpensive photo frames. Consider placing framed photos of the golden couple at each table near the vase of flowers. This will also serve as a great conversation starter for the guests.
