Learn to Keep your iBook or MacBook Sparkling Clean

Having a white iBook or MacBook looks sleek when it's brand-new, but once it starts showing some wear, it becomes dirty and grubby looking. Places where your hands touch frequently (for instance, the built-in mouse pad and touch mouse, as well as the keyboard keys and where the bottom of your palms rest on the edge of the computer), tend to get gray or black marks that are nearly impossible to remove. If your computer still works great, there's no use in getting a brand-new one just because of a few surface marks.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
  • White iBook or MacBook
  • Damp paper towel
  • Dish detergent
  1. Step 1

Wipe with a damp paper towel to remove any easy-to-remove surface stains. Be sure to work in between the keys in the keyboard.

  2. Step 2

For more stubborn stains, add a small amount of dish detergent to the damp paper towel. Make sure to run another damp, clean paper towel over the soaped areas to thoroughly remove the soap from the computer.

  3. Step 3

For super stubborn stains, the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works on stains that seem like they'll never come off. Wet the Magic Eraser and rub carefully on any remaining surface stains. Be sure to remove any residue with a damp, clean cloth.

  4. Step 4

If stains still remain, add a small amount of dish detergent to the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and rinse in cold water. Rub vigorously on the surface of the computer until all stains have been removed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to wash your hands after using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
  • Do not let any drops of water settle inside the keyboard or computer.
  • Use caution when using soap and water on or around a computer.
