There are very few women in the world who are content to allow their eyebrows grow naturally. In an attempt to keep their eyebrows from becoming bushy, turning into a uni-brow or because they don't like the shape of their eyebrows are inclined to take, most women either tweeze or wax their eyebrows, but for whatever reason, some cannot or are unable to tweeze or wax. Indian threading helps to give a precisely shaped eyebrow without the pain of tweezing or waxing.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eyebrow pencil
  • 2 feet of 100 percent cotton thread
  • Salve that is safe to use around your eyes
  1. Step 1

Knot the two ends of the cotton thread together. Use your left hand to hold one side of the loop while using your right hand to twist the loop 8 to 12 times.

  2. Step 2

Repeat the process with the other side of the loop. When you are finished your thread will look like it has been twisted into two teardrops that are joined in the middle.

  3. Step 3

Use the eyebrow pencil to darken the eyebrow hair that you want to remain. By marking the exact shape of the eyebrow, you decrease the chances of removing too much hair.

  4. Step 4

Repeat the process on your other eyebrow. Compare the eyebrows, making sure they are the same size and shape when finished.

  5. Step 5

Carefully roll the knot of cotton thread along the bottom of you eyebrow. The knot will catch and pull out any of the hairs that it touches. The hair will be pulled out by its follicle so you shouldn't be surprised if you experience a slight pinching.

  6. Step 6

Continue rolling the thread along the unmarked hair. Repeat the process on the other eyebrow.

  7. Step 7

Use a warm, wet cloth to wipe the coloring from your eyebrows when you have finished with your Indian threading project.

  8. Step 8

Rub a small amount of salve into the area where you have just removed the hair. The salve will help ease any discomfort and reduce redness.

Tips & Warnings
  • The first time you try Indian threading don't start with your eyebrows. Do a trial run on your legs.
