Download Limewire directly from the site. As with many programs, users can access download links for Limewire for third-party websites. This could cause you to encounter some problems when attempting to run the program. Since Limewire is free, there is no reason to not simply go to the Limewire website and download the program.

2
Avoid using any download accelerators or download managers. They're not necessary for downloading Limewire and may cause the program to download incorrectly.

3
Log onto the internet and then download Limewire from either IE or Firefox.

4
Disable your firewall or alter the settings to allow Limewire to download and to install the program onto your computer. For many users, this may be as simple as clicking “OK” when your Firewall pops up on the screen while downloading Limewire with a message asking you to either allow or deny the program. Others may have to temporarily disable the firewall manually. What you do will be determined by your particular system.

Use caution when running an anti-spyware or anti-adware program. Some of these programs place Limewire as a “recognized threat.” You may inadvertently delete a key component of Limewire without even knowing it. When you run your anti-spyware or anti-adware program, make sure that nothing from Limewire is in the list of infections you wish to delete.

Make sure you're connected to the internet before running Limewire. Limewire will connect itself to the internet if you log onto your internet service after opening the program. However, the connection will not likely be as stable as if you were to connect to the internet first. You should also keep Limewire open for about 5-10 minutes before trying to upload or download a song. Your connection gets stronger the longer you run Limewire.
