Stand in an area where you have space to move. The "Out Out In In" movement requires foot movement, so don't stand right next to someone, or something, else. A good rule of thumb is to stand at least arm's length away from everything. This gives plenty of room to perform most aerobic movements.

2
Imagine you are standing at the bottom of a "V". By imagining the "V" on the floor, it's easy to see where the feet will go and plan the movements. The arms should be bent at 90-degree angles at the sides of the body. If starting an aerobic workout, make sure to warm up beforehand so that the muscles are ready to go.

Start by moving the right foot forward and out to the edge of the "V." At the same time, extend the right arm forward, as if punching in front. Follow by stepping forward and to the left with your left foot, so both feet are at the top of the "V." As the left foot goes forward, extend and punch out the left arm.

4
Move the right foot back to the starting position. While moving the right foot back, pull the right arm back. The right elbow should be bent at a ninety degree angle directly at the side of the body. Then move the left foot back to the bottom of the "V," pulling the left arm in at the 90-degree angle.

Give yourself a pat on the back. The "Out Out In In" is a classic move for aerobics class. Many instructors use this basic step and add to it. Practice it until it's mastered, and aerobics class will be much easier. To add difficulty, hold some small hand weights while doing the "Out Out In In." Using a step is another way to add difficulty. Start out the same way and step up for the outer part of the "V."
