If you burn a DVD on a Windows-based computer, you can still take that disc over to a Mac computer and read it there. As certain types of files cannot be used by the Mac operating system you may not be able to use all of the files contained on the disc, but you can still read its contents and save and archive files to your Mac computer's hard drive. You just need to use the DVD drive in your Mac computer to do so.

Turn on your Mac computer.

Press the "Eject" button on your Mac keyboard to eject the disc tray of your computer's DVD drive. Insert the Windows DVD into your Mac DVD drive, and then press the "Eject" button again to close it.

Wait a few seconds. An icon for the Windows DVD you just placed into your Mac computer's DVD drive will appear on your Mac desktop.

Click on the icon for the Windows DVD on your desktop. This will open its contents in a folder browser window, allowing you to see what is contained on the disc.
