If you notice hair shedding, first take stock of how much hair you're losing--believe it or not, 50 to 100 hairs are perfectly normal to lose on a daily basis. Consider whether or not this is normal loss and breakage.
-
2
As a very basic step, use a better conditioner, because your hair could be simply snapping mid-strand rather than being sloughed off at the follicle. Choose an intense conditioner formulated for dry or damaged hair, and give it at least a week to show definite results.

3
For one week, stop using damaging hair tools like a hair dryer and hot tools such as straighteners and irons. These can significantly damage your hair and increase shedding and breakage.
-
4
If that does not resolve the shedding, consider your diet. Iron and protein deficiencies both can make hair weak and prone to shedding, breakage and loss. By either taking a supplement or increasing the presence of these in your diets, you may correct your problem.

If none of these things correct the problem, see a doctor. Several serious diseases have hair loss as a symptom, including Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, thyroid disorders and undiscovered infections.
