How to Prepare for a Bikini Wax
Bikini waxes remove the hair from the bikini line. The process takes some time, but it's worth it for women who don't want unsightly hairs in that area. It's helpful to the person performing the wax, and the subject, to know what to expect and how to get ready. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Don't shave the area for at least three weeks before the appointment. The hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grab and hold.
-
2
Set up an appointment with an experienced technician at least a week after your period. The area will be less sensitive, and the waxing will be less painful in that time frame.
-
-
3
Take at least two aspirin an hour before the appointment to help with the pain. Don't let anyone tell you there will not be pain in this process.
-
4
Wear an old pair of underwear, preferably a thong, to the appointment. Old underwear is easy to throw away in case wax sticks to the fabric.
-
5
When you get home, take care of the area immediately to ensure you don't get ingrown hairs. Exfoliate the area with a scrub in the shower. Apply an ingrown hair cream twice a day.

Tips & Warnings
A Brazilian wax is different from a bikini wax. During a Brazilian wax, they remove all the hair, while during a bikini wax, they remove the hair that would be visible when wearing a bathing suit. They usually leave a path down the middle.
If you're going on vacation and plan to wear a bikini, schedule the appointment a few days before you leave. It may take a few days for the redness in the area to fade.
