This is how to write a Traditional Haiku poem. There are also Modern Haiku but that's a little different. I have also written an article on how to write a Modern Haiku.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pencil
  • paper
  • OR computer
  • ~imagination~
  1. Step 1

This is SO simple! The poem has a total of three lines. The first line of the poem has FIVE sylables.

  2. Step 2

The second line of the poem has SEVEN sylables.

  3. Step 3

And the third line has FIVE sylables again. It HAS to have these amounts in each line.

Tips & Warnings
  • Haiku are often/normally written about nature. Your poem doesn't have to be written about nature, but if you have trouble on the topic write about what's before you, about what you see.
