Save On Your Water Bill

People waste gallons of water every year without much thought. It's an easy thing to do and often we don't think of the value of water itself. However, saving water can be just as easy and can even help save you money on your water bill! Follow these steps and conserve!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take more showers. Baths can waste gallons of water. If you must take a bath, limit yourself. Quick showers are your best bet!

  2. Step 2

When washing the dishes use one side of the sink for soapy water and the other side for rinsing. Never leave the faucet on, as this also is just wasteful.

  3. Step 3

When brushing your teeth turn the faucet off while you are actually brushing. Turn it on quick to rinse and continue.

  4. Step 4

Fill a pitcher with water and put it in the refrigerator. When you need a glass of water your water will be extra chilly and will prevent you from waiting for the tap to become cool.

  5. Step 5

Always fill your washer full of clothes and never less. This can waste gallons of water as well.

  6. Step 6

Take notice in all leaky faucets in and outdoors. Fix them! This will save you tons of money.

  7. Step 7

If you have more than one young child, bath them together. Not only will this conserve water, but it will also save you time!

  8. Step 8

Recycle water. If you have houseplants that need to be watered it is okay to use the water you boiled vegetables or noodles in.

  9. Step 9

Be creative! There are numerous steps that one can come up with in regards to conserving water. Just use your head and these guidelines and you'll feel good about saving water and even better about saving more money!

on 9/9/2008 Conserving water is so important. Pooring yesterday's pet water on plants helps to reduce/reuse/recycle too.
