Deciding upon what services you can offer within your virtual assistant business is easy.

Everyone has skills and if you have ever worked in the corporate world and decided it is now time to set up your own small business as a virtual assistant, you already have a plethora of skills to offer to business owners.

I'm going to list a few services you'll want to consider along with a description of each. All services may be specialized and combined depending upon your unique skills.

  • Microsoft Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook.
  • Virus protection/firewall: I recommend Zone Alarm Security Suite.
  • Printer black & white/color
  • Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, logo creators
  • Business Connections - caterers, bakers, printing establishments.

    * Event Planning - Entails arrange food and beverages, transportation, entertainment and security for different aspects of events.

  2. Step 2

    * PowerPoint presentations - Put your knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint to great use by preparing slide presentations for business marketing.

  3. Step 3

    * Desktop Publishing - Specialize in designing and layout of newsletters, flyers and brochures for restaurants, realtors or caterers.

  4. Step 4

    * Internet Research - This is a great skill for specializing in ebook preparation for your client. Research and compile findings on a plethora of topics.

  5. Step 5

    * Forum Administrator - Moderate message boards, chat rooms and other online groups.

  6. Step 6

    * Organizing Consultant - Offer this service to individuals starting or moving their businesses, plan or pack for relocating, offer time management and set up filing systems.

    * File Conversion - Converting files from Word to PDF format.

  8. Step 8

    * Web Design - Design your client's website which may include ongoing maintenance, take it one step further and provide hosting as well. If you are a pro, why not tutor your client to maintain their own website.

    * Logo Design - Handy with Fireworks, Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop or have a logo creator installed? Design logos for existing or new businesses.

    * Article Writing - Writing articles for authors, bloggers or various web sites.

    * Public Relations - Write and submit press releases for your clients' businesses and arrange interviews with the media in order to promote your clients' general image.
