First of all if you think you are hungry and you just ate, give it a few minutes. Let your food digest. Wait at least 20 minutes after a meal or snack before considering anything else.

If it is bedtime, go to sleep. Fatigue can also be misconstrued as hunger by the body.

Give your taste buds the unexpected. When your body says it is hungry, and you know you are full, eat something spicy. This will change the message to your brain and limit the need for sweets. Spicy foods also increase metabolism slightly, which is always a good thing.
