How to find more Sunday insert coupons thumbnail
Multiply your savings with day-old Sunday newspapers.

Obtaining multiple coupons allows you to purchase more than one product when there is a good sale. If your favorite chili is on sale for $1.00 and you have a 50-cent coupon for it, you might think that's a good deal. You know your husband eats five of these a week -- but you have only one coupon. Wouldn't it be nice to have more than one coupon so you could buy several of them and save with coupons on each one? This helps to build your stockpile, which is a way to save money and stretch your food budget.

Instructions

Sometimes stores and gas stations have Sunday papers left over. Check with them and see if you can have the coupon sections. You can also check and see if they discount the Sunday paper on Monday. If so, you can buy papers with coupon inserts at a discounted price.

Often, coffee houses, fast food restaurants and hotels have complementary newspapers. Ask the manager if you can have the coupons in the papers.

    • 3

Ask your friends, relatives, neighbors and coworkers or anyone else you can think of for their Sunday coupon inserts. Even if they tell you they clip their coupons, maybe you can have their leftovers. Often, people only clip a few coupons out of the Sunday paper and just throw the rest away.

Ask your newspaper carrier if he has any coupon inserts left over after he stuffs the papers.

Dumpster diving is illegal in many states, so you might do better to avoid it. If you're brave, ask permission of the dumpster's owner so you don't break any trespassing laws. If you snoop in recycling bins, this can become a violation of other people's privacy because of personal letters that are in there. You can also check with your recycling center to see if there is a newspaper bin you can look through for coupons.

Many towns or city papers have coupon inserts in their midweek newspapers, so make sure you check to see if yours does.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are having a hard time finding multiple coupons, you can also trade for them. Someone else may have had great luck finding multiple coupons and is willing to trade them for the ones you need.
