How to Make White Rice That Doesn't Stick
Cook white rice without the problem of having it sticking to the sides of the pot by adding the right ingredients and cooking for the proper amount of time. Although this method will not work for other varieties of rice, such a s brown, wild or rice in a bag, it will work for white rice every single time. Eliminate the hassle of having white rice stick to your pot by adding white vinegar to the water while cooking. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Pot
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups water
- Sink
- Colander
- Stove
- 1 tsp. rice vinegar

Add a cup of uncooked white rice into a colander, then rinse briefly under your sink's faucet. Rinsing the rice is optional, but may remove some of the starchiness in the process. Rinsing the rice for extended amounts of time may remove some of its nutrients as well. Let the water rinse through the bottom of the colander before continuing.

Add the white rice and 2 cups water to the pot, then add 1 tsp. of rice vinegar. The rice vinegar will keep the rice from sticking to the pot's sides while cooking. Add any additional seasoning at this time to the water and rice as well.

Place the cover on the pot, then bring to a boil over the stove. Turn the stove's power setting down to low after you hear the water reach boiling levels and let it keep cooking for 20 minutes.

Remove the pot from the heated stove and let it sit for five minutes before serving. The rice will be able to be removed without having stuck to the sides of the cookware.

Tips & Warnings
Make larger amounts of white rice by doubling the amount of rice grains, and adding two parts water. For example, for every 2 cups of rice grains, use 4 cups water. Double the amount of rice vinegar as well.
