find scholarships through the internet

This is information on how to find scholarships through the internet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with internet access
  1. Step 1

Write down all clubs, extracurriculars, volunteer projects, awards that you were given. Remember! Make yourself stand out. If you have worked in a soup kitchen every Thanksgiving for four years let them know! Colleges love to see applicants who stick with projects throughout their high school careers. If you were a officer in a club this is especially important as well.

  2. Step 2

After gathering up your qualifications go to your perspective colleges website. Most colleges will have a financial aid section on their website. Check there first, scholarships are considered financial aid.

  3. Step 3

Secondly, look for the department that your major falls into Ex. Criminal Justice. Go to their section of the schools website they will have scholarships and honor programs listed there.

  4. Step 4

Also, you can check a popular website called www.Fastweb.com This website is recommended by www.finaid.org which is full of useful info. You will create an account on fastweb, but it is worth it because it narrows down what you qualify for and presents them to you with deadlines!

  5. Step 5

Lastly, apply apply apply! This will probably require writing essays and really putting yourself out there, but in the end it is worth it!

Tips & Warnings
  • You do not have to have a 4.0 to get many scholarships to cover your education.
  • Check local clubs like Kiwanis to see if they offer educational scholarships.
  • Some employers offer scholarship for their employees or employees children.
  • Make deadlines, and follow up on applications.
  • Watch out for scholarship scams. Any scholarship that asks you to pay a processing fee or any other fee is probably a scam!
