Need help finding the right words to describe your work experience. Here are some web sites that will help you.

  1. Step 1

    Grab your notepad, pen/pencil, and your most recent resume. Write down all the job titles you currently have now and in the past.

  2. Step 2

    Once you have all your titles, go to your computer, log on, and in the search engine bar and type One-stop Career Center, or OOH (Occupational Outlook Handbook).

  3. Step 3

    Each website, should have options to choose from, like career planning, or job description. These resources are extremely helpful, when you are trying to describe your past or present job, to a new employer or to constructing a new resume format. Also there are other helpful assessments that could lead you to another career, by having the same skills you possess.

Tips & Warnings
  • People who served in the Military, Career One-Stop has a link on their website to help you translate your Military experience in civilian terms.
