Step 1
My friend in DIXIE Idaho just called me & asked what is a strong knot to use while fishing , So I give all credit for the idea on this article to DANNY R. , My favorite RED NECK in the hills.
GET-R-DUNN -
Step 2
The Palomar Knot when tied correctly, is consistently the strongest fishing knot I have ever found . It easy to tie & will not ship through.
1. Double about 7" of line and pass the loop through the eye of the fishing hook. If the eye of the hook is small to pass the loop through , Pass the line through the eye of the hook then double the loose end back through the eye of the hook & leave a loop on one end. -
Step 3
2. Let the fishing hook hang loose in the middle, and tie an overhand knot in the double line.
Try not to twist the lines and do NOT tighten the knot yet. -
Step 4
3. Pull the loop end of the line far enough down to pass the hook , swivel or lure through the loop.
Make sure the hook/ lure/swivel passes all the way through the loop -
Step 5
4. Pull both ends of the line until the knot is tightened. Clip off the loose end of the fishing line.
The knot it now finished & you are ready to go fishing
