This is a great recipe that my grandmother used to make.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 can (11 oz) condensed tomato soup
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 lb pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamom
  • 1/8 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
  1. Step 1

Cook cabbage leaves in boiling salted water a few minutes to soften; drain.

  2. Step 2

Mix thoroughly 2 tablespoons soup and remaining ingredients except basil. Divide meat mixture among cabbage leaves; roll up, folding in edges (secure with toothpicks if necessary).

  3. Step 3

In skillet blend remaining soup and basil. Place rolls seam-side down in soup mixture. Cover; cook over low heat 40 minutes or until done. Stir occasionally, spooning sauce over rolls. Uncover; cook to desired consistency. Makes 4 servings.
