James Dean - the Ultimate Bad Boy

The novelty has worn off. The jaded bad boy you've been dating is either too jaded or too bad for your taste anymore. Get ready to ditch the bad boy for a less cynical model.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ready to move on
  • Know you don't need him to be ok or happy
  • Have a backbone
  1. Step 1

    GET FED UP WITH HIM

He's playing games, avoiding your calls, or getting into legal trouble. You need to move on. Cut him off.

  2. Step 2

    DISTRACT YOURSELF

At first you might feel some separation anxiety. It will pass as long as you stay busy. Go out with friends, write ehow articles, take up tennis, do whatever you can to make sure you don't back peddle.

  3. Step 3

    TELL HIM IT'S OVER

Don't play any games. Don't dodge calls. Tell him it's over. Tell him why if you feel you should. Be kind if you can or not. Either way, ditch the bad boy.

  4. Step 4

    REPLACEMENTS

When you are ready and you have built up your self esteem, you can start dating again. Stay away from bad boys! They are trouble and you know now from your experience that the allure is not enough to put yourself through it again.

  5. Step 5

    TALK TO A THERAPIST

If you have developed a pattern of picking unreliable and rude men, see a therapist and find out why. Work on your self esteem. A therapist can point you in the right direction.

Tips & Warnings
  • Spend free time with friends and family when the breakup is new.
  • Consider volunteer work at a hospital or animal shelter. Dogs are always better companions than boyfriends.
