You can sync your favorite Bluetooth device to your computer using Windows XP SP2. By running this service pack or its successor (SP3), Windows will automatically recognize your Bluetooth device when you connect it. If for some reason Windows doesn't recognize your Bluetooth device, you can manually add a driver. Before you begin, make sure your computer recognizes Bluetooth devices. If it doesn't, you can add a USB to Bluetooth adapter.

      Navigate to the "Start" menu and select the "Control Panel."

      Click on the "Bluetooth Devices" icon.

      Select the "Devices" tab.

      Click on the "Add" button in the lower left corner. The Bluetooth device wizard will appear.

      Turn the Bluetooth device on.

      Check the box next to "My device is set up and ready to be found." Then click the "Next" button. Windows will then search for the device. When it finds the device, it will appear in this pop-up.

      Highlight the device. Then click "Next."

      When prompted, enter a passkey. This is useful if you have several Bluetooth devices or if others nearby are using Bluetooth devices. If this is not the case, click "Don't Use a Passkey." Then click "Next." Your Bluetooth device is connected to your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that your Bluetooth device is discoverable.

  • If you don't know the passcode for the Bluetooth device, try "0000" (without quotes).

  • If you don't know the passcode for the bluetooth device, try 0000.
