I've seen these classes, or meetings called The Secret. I'm assuming this method is supposed to lead you to a better job, money, etc. Maybe you are looking for a spouse, better friends or a home to call your own. Most of the times, getting what you want just requires common sense.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A stiff upper lip
  • Healthy esteem
  • Decent wardrobe
  • Support system, even if it's just you!
  1. Step 1

    Reduce the amount of television you watch every day. Think about it, these people are paid already. Some get a percentage from the advertisers on top of their 5-6 figure per episode salaries. Nothing is wrong with watching the tube but if you're trying to follow Britney's every move, when will you have time to make your own moves?

  2. Step 2

    You may have good friends with a less-than-sunny disposition but whatever time you spend with them will have to be cut in half, even if that equals to zero. This includes those who are excessive drinkers, gamblers, crap talkers, etc. Remember the old saying, 'Misery loves company.'

  3. Step 3

    Professional motivational speakers may have a good piece of advice but you should not have to spend $$$ to get that help you seek. For some, the Bible (or other religious teachings)is a good start or even reading about the life of someone who has survived tough times during a difficult transition. If what you seek involves money, then go to the library and just peruse until you see a possible match.

  4. Step 4

    Write down what it is you want. Sounds simple, maybe even silly but it works and helps to define your needs to achieve this.

  5. Step 5

    Be good to your body. This is not implying to become a vegan or get on an all-protein diet. You cannot continuously function if your mind is hazy, your body is always tired or are constantly under stress. Whether it be yoga, meditation or just a stroll around the block - do not abuse yourself in any way!

  6. Step 6

    Be aware of time because once it's gone, you can't get it back. Seek methods to save time including planning, multi-tasking or just waking up an hour or so earlier in day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not burn bridges, if possible.
  • Be very cautious of those who say (or imply) that they can solve your problems in one weekend or ask for money to do so!

on 6/15/2009 Great article on getting what you want form life. I love #4. Seems simple, but few do it and many who try actually have trouble because they haven't really defined it for themselves. And how can you get what you want if you're not even sure what it is? 5* all teh way.

If a person does not have their own mind then how can they be happy?
