Ovulation predictor kits offer couples the opportunity to increase their chances of conceiving during any given month. These kits include tests that measure your LH level. There are so many different ovulation predictor kits on the market, however, things can become confusing. This article is designed to help you choose the right ovulation predictor kits for you.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide how much money you want to spend. Ovulation predictor kits you buy at the drug store can cost up to $70 a piece. These typically include 9 tests. You can, however purchase less at one time. 5 tests is another common number.

  2. Step 2

Choose a brand that is recommended by others. Typically, people use the two brands OvuQuick and Clearplan Easy. Many people say their doctor's recommend both of these ovulation predictor kits.

  3. Step 3

Decide if you want to pee in a cup or on sticks provided in the ovulation predictor kits. If you want the most bang for your buck, you will have to pee in a cup and rely on ovulation predictor kits with test strips you dip in the cup. In fact, you can purchase these fairly inexpensively, at about 60 cents per strip.

  4. Step 4

Consider purchasing combination kits that having ovulation predictor kits and pregnancy tests all in one. Ovulation predictor kits and pregnancy tests are both fairly expensive. You can, however, kill 2 birds with one stone and purchase them at the same time to save you a bit of money.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ovulation predictor kits do not tell you when you are ovulating. They simply predict that you will ovulate within the next 36 hours. These, however, can be wrong.
  • Do not purchase ovulation predictor kits if you are on fertility drugs. These can affect your results. Talk to your doctor first to determine if the kits will work in your particular situation.
