This is mainly for teens, or anyone with a trashed-up personal room (by trashed up I mean cans or bottles of soda everywhere, dishes, unnecessary things, etc.)

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Pieces of Paper
  • Trash Bag or Can
  • Clothes Basket
  • 2 Large Boxes or Trays
  • Cleaning Disinfectant Wipes
  • Vacuum or Dust Buster
  • Basic Cleaning Abilities
  1. Step 1

Using a piece of paper, draw a rough sketch of your room. It can be as simple as drawing a box and adding box and circle shapes to the drawing to add familiarity. Take this drawing and split it into groups, I normally choose 8 because of my room's layout, but you can choose less of more depending on your situation.

  2. Step 2

Tape the map on your door. Select a section and get ready to go!

  3. Step 3

First, because you can see them better most of the time, collect all your clothes and put them in your clothes bin. If you have a laundry room in your house or your own washer and dryer in a cabinet, put the basket there when your done with collection, to get it out of the way. Don't start it yet; you may come across more in the section!

  4. Step 4

Now, look for any dishes. Put them in a large box or tray, and make sure you don't spill! Now carry it to your kitchen or wherever you see fit to do dishes. Again, don't start that, you'll stop cleaning and start other things!

  5. Step 5

Take all your trash lying around and put it in a trash bag or can. Look at that note. When did you need it? Do you need it now? Is it So important to you? If you don't have a good explanation for these, then it's probably trash. I know, it's sentimental, but you can always know it existed. It was hard for me too!

  6. Step 6

Now pick up all your clutter - the stuff you need and whatnot - and put it in a large box or tray. You'll set this aside and sort it once your room is complete so its in the right place and you can remember where you put what.

  7. Step 7

If it is a surface, then clean it off with pledge wipes or those lemony disinfectant wipes. It makes the surface nice and clean!

  8. Step 8

If there is a section of carpet, vacuum it or use a hand vacuum! you'll be amazed how it looks.

  9. Step 9

Now, take all the things left over, like trash and clothes you didnt see before, and put them in their places. Correct all the off things, like make your bed, and tidy your shoes. It's really rather nice, and seeing one part done will make you want to make othr parts done! See how nice and easy it was? Just repeat it!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Take it easy! If your feeling sick or hurt, take a break to make sure you're okay. Sometimes cleaning can be quite hard on the body!
  • If you're feeling stressed, here's a nice way to unwind. Get your ipod and download a free podcast based on meditation, there's lots to choose from. Once you have it, go ahead and listen to a track. You'll calm down, and you'll be able to function nicely!
  • Some things are heavy! If you need help, don't hesitate, don't suck up, and DON'T be too prideful. You can really mess up your back if you don't be careful with heavy items.
  • You could get hurt! There are things with splinters of anything, glass, wood, even plastic if its small and sharp enough. If anything looks like it would have a splinter, cover the section up so you won't brush on it.
