   Determine the radius, r, of the circle. (Example: r = 3 ft).

2. Square the radius. (Example: r x r = 3 ft x 3 ft = 9 square ft).

3. Multiply the result of Step 2 times pi, or 3.14. (Example: 9 x 3.14 = 28.26 square ft).
