You can save money and make your own beef Jerky at home. Here's how.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cut raw beef into thin strips, about an eighth of an inch in thickness.

  2. Step 2

Marinate your beef strips in a flavoring of your choice. Teriyaki, bbq, and garlic and spices are good choices, but you can make your jerky any flavor you want.

  3. Step 3

Lay your flavored beef srips out on a cookie sheet, and dry in the oven on the coolest temperature you can manage. You might want to leave the oven door open a bit for air circulation.

  4. Step 4

Beef jerky is done when it is dry and chewy, and a little bit flexible. Drying time varys from 6 to 24 hours, depending on your temperature and humidity.
