When it comes to wedding flowers, costs can certainly run the gauntlet. On average, you can expect to spend about 8-10% of your total wedding budget on flowers. While this is a good estimate, you can modify many elements to design a floral motif that is both stylish and budget friendly.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Reduce the number of attendants in your wedding party -
Fewer bridesmaids means fewer bouquets for your florist to create. Since bouquets can cost anywhere from $25-$200 each, having less of them will save you some serious cash.

  2. Step 2

Invite less people to your wedding -
Fewer guests means fewer reception tables that you have to top with pricey centerpieces.

  3. Step 3

    Choose in-season wedding flowers -
They are often less expensive and easier to find.

  4. Step 4

    Choose less complicated blooms -
Certain flowers will run up the cost of your floral budget no matter what season. Ask your florist to review your options with you.

Flowers that tend to be expensive:
    - Lily of the Valley
    - Calla Lily
    - Orchids
    - Magnolias
    - Peonies
    - Gardenia
    - Hydrangea

Flowers that tend to be inexpensive:
    - Orange Blossoms
    - Lavender
    - Daffodil
    - Daisies
    - Chrysanthemum
    - Roses (due to variance in kind, quality and color)
    - Greenery
