Whether you're making spaghetti for the whole family, or you just want a tastier sauce to make, freeze, & save, this large crock pot sauce recipe will help you!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 jar meat flavored sauce
  • about 13 oz of an all natural sauce (I used Ragu's All Naturals packet)
  • 1 cup water
  • about 30 mini-meatballs
  • 1/2 a large cucumber, sliced thickly
  • Large can of stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup diced onion
  • 1 large clove of garlic, diced
  • pepper, salt, parsley flakes (to taste/optional)
  1. Step 1

In large crock pot, add your jar of meat sauce, your natural sauce (which is usually tastier & sweeter, believe it or not!), & water. Turn crock pot on low.

  2. Step 2

In a pan with a bit of oil, brown the mini-meatballs just on the outside, making sure they are brown all the way around, but not necessarily all the way through. Drain off the oil. Add them to your crock pot.

  3. Step 3

Then add your sliced cucumber, spreading evenly, & your can of stewed tomatoes. Stir lightly.

  4. Step 4

Add your cheeses to this, followed by your diced onion, & diced garlic clove. Follow with your spices, & cover.

  5. Step 5

Cook for about 2 hours. Then turn crock pot onto high, & cook another 3 hours. Taste, & enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • This sauce can be cooled, and frozen in sized bags, making sure to let the air out!
  • After letting the sauce cook for 2 hours on low, give it a good stir before turning up the heat. I also recommend stirring again at about 3 1/2 hours (total time).
