Things You'll Need:
- Adobe photoshop CS2 (or an earlier version of photoshop that has liquify filter)
- a photo of yourself or anyone else
-
Step 1
Open adobe photoshop CS2 or CS3 (or an earlier version if you don't have CS2). Go to file, open, and choose to open the image of choice from the open dialog box.
-
Step 2
Press CTRL J to "jump" the image to a new layer. In the layer dialog box on the bottom right, (if you don't see a layer dialog box, go to window and choose layers) you will see 2 identical image thumbnail, one is named background and the other is called layer 1. Layer 1 is the layer that you just "jumped" or duplicated. The importance of duplicating an image when modifying it is that you never want to modify the original image directly.
-
Step 3
With layer 1 active, (layer 1 is highlighted in the layers dialog box) go to filter and choose liquify. Then the liquify dialog box comes up along with your image.
-
Step 4
The liquify dialog box is very easy to use. On the upper left hand corner, you see a bunch of tools. The first one with the little hand is called forward warp tool, which moves a specific part of the image. This tool can be used to make you look skinner.
-
Step 5
The second tool is the reconstruct tool. It will restore the image to its original condition. This tool is useful when you made a mistake and want to restore parts of the original image.
-
Step 6
The fourth and fifth tools are the pucker and bloat tool respectively. They are useful for making certain parts bigger and other parts smaller.
-
Step 7
After you are doing modifying the image, just click ok. Photoshop applies those changes to your image.
-
Step 8
You can always compare the before and after of your image by turning on and off the "eye" in front of layer 1.

on 8/10/2008 I use Adobe photoshop. Your tips are good and easy to follow. But if few processed images would be there it would be more useful for new users. Thanks.
