Arch Eyebrows Without Wax

Getting eyebrows waxed hurts. The lukewarm ointment that goes across your skin is fine, but it's the sheet that's used to rip the hair from the ointment that leaves bumps, irritates the skin and is quite the picker-upper. But if a person wants that high arch to enhance her eyes, what is she to do? What if you're allergic to the ointment used to wax eyebrows or simply just don't feel like putting up with the pain? No worries. There's no need to have any hair ripped off anymore. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Look in the mirror to examine where is your arch. It may be more difficult to find if there is excess hair above and below the eyebrow or if a person has a unibrow, but the arch is usually no more than an inch and a half away from a person's temple.

    • 2

Decide whether you want to have a thin, high arch or medium, high arch or just to get rid of the excess hair around your eyebrows. This is imperative, because it will affect the amount of hair to be removed in Step 3.

    • 3

Apply cocoa butter in the areas that should be shaved. Cocoa butter is used to prevent breakouts and to soften the very light scraping sensation of hair being removed from your face.

    • 4

Start underneath the eyebrow using an eyebrow arching razor with your wrist slightly bent. Start from the edge of your eyebrow towards your nose, scrape excess hair. This process should end in the direction of your ear. If there is excess hair above the eyebrow, start again from the nose and work your way to your ear. In the case that you have a unibrow, start from the top of the unibrow and work your way down to your nose.

    • 5

With a tissue and a small dab of cocoa butter, remove the excess hair from your face that was scraped from around the eyebrow area. This is done so the small hairs do not irritate your eyes or stick to your face. If you have an oily face, use a washcloth and water instead.

    • 6

Use an eyebrow pencil to fill in any areas you'd like to make a little thicker. This is a great way to fix an eyebrow in case you shaved your eyebrow too thin. It also evens out an eyebrow to look neater.

Tips & Warnings

  • Eyebrow arching pencils can usually be found at the cash register counter of beauty supply stores worldwide.

  • An eyebrow arching razor should work immediately. If you are scraping hair from your face, but the hair is not coming off immediately, get a new eyebrow arching razor. These are to be treated the same way as a regular razor, and depending on the amount of use, some dull quicker than others.
