Honey is a natural ingredient produced by the honey bee that offers a wide-variety of uses and herbal remedies. Not only is honey a tasty treat that can be added to foods as a healthy sweetener, but it's also a natural preservative that has calming effects, healing qualities and is said to even fight off cancer.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Sweeten foods and beverages with honey to satisfy both your sweet tooth and your hunger. Honey is a natural calming ingredient that will help you relax. It helps cleanse your body when added to hot liquids, and it also nourishes and satisfies your body's nutritional needs (honey is packed with vitamins and minerals).

  2. Step 2

Use honey to soothe a scratchy throat. Suck down a couple teaspoons of honey straight or add to a cup of hot tea to stop a persistent cough. The sticky substance will coat your throat and thin stubborn mucus, and it is packed with a variety of antioxidants that fight and kill bacteria.

  3. Step 3

Heal and clean minor cuts by using honey as an antiseptic. Honey will not only coat a wound to prevent infection from outside dirt and bacteria, but it also has antibacterial qualities that will help speed up the healing of minor cuts and burns, reduce swelling and reduce scarring.

  4. Step 4

Polish and nourish your skin with honey as a natural cleanser. Honey is often added to body scrubs and exfoliants; it's a gentle moisturizer that will fight bacteria and leave your skin feeling soft.

  5. Step 5

Cure an upset stomach or a hangover by eating some honey over toast. Honey is an easily digested food that is high in fructose to speed up your metabolism and settle the stomach.

  6. Step 6

Eat a teaspoon of honey every day; as the old-wive's tale goes, it leads to a longer, healthier life. Truth be told, daily honey consumption does have positive health benefits; the antioxidants help reduce your risk of cancers and cardiovascular disease.

Tips & Warnings
  • Honey should not be consumed or used by children under one year old.
